In my previous post I took a walk through the Georgian capital of Tbilisi one evening. When I made that photo I was on a hilltop. As I made my way down, I got to see glimpses of everyday life in the city. This scene is one particular example. The patterns on the sheets are things that one would almost never see in Western Europe.
Furthermore, this method of hanging laundry out on a line to dry harks back to a bygone time. Nowadays, with our dryers or purpose-built drying racks, barely anyone extends a line from one end to another and hangs wet clothes on it.
