The building of the Mayersche bookstore at Königsallee 18 (‘King’s Avenue 18’) in Düsseldorf. I visit this bookstore reasonably often when I’m in the city and quite like it. (If you look closely you can see the uppercase ‘M’ that forms a large part of Mayersche’s logo.) The store is very crowded at weekends, just to let you know!

The building was renovated and the work was completed in 2008, if its architect’s website (the architects being sop, or slapa oberholz pszczulny) is to be believed. What’s interesting about that site is that you can also see how the building looked before the renovation. Have a look!
